Assisted Study Room

  Use Policy

The Assisted Study Room is available during normal library hours for use by Oakland Literacy Council tutors and their students and those who need the use of assistive technology for the vision impaired.  This space is also available for use by other groups of 3 people as scheduling of the room permits. A single user may book this space.

Preference in booking the room will be given to tutors and students in Oakland Literacy Council programs and those who need to use of assistive technology for the vision impaired.

  • Other groups of 3 users outside of these programs may reserve a single time slot or a recurring booking in advance either in person at the Adult Services Reference Desk or by calling (248) 618-7693. The booking can be for a maximum of two hours per group, per day with the understanding that the scheduling needs of participants in the above mentioned programs take precedence in all instances of scheduling conflicts.
  • A single user may reserve a single time slot in advance, either in person or at the Adult Services Reference Desk or by calling (248) 618-7693. The booking can be for a maximum of two hours per person, per day with the understanding that the scheduling needs of participants in the above mentioned programs take precedence in all instances of scheduling conflicts. 
  • A single user may not make a recurring booking.
  • Booking of this room can also be done on a walk-in basis if the room is not already reserved, observing the parameters noted above.
  • There is a limit of three (3) people at a time in the Assisted Study Room.  An adult must accompany children under 12 years of age who are using the Assisted Study Room.  Please check in at the Adult Services Reference Desk to use this room.
  • As is true throughout the library, no smoking, food, or drinks without lids are allowed in the Assisted Study Room.  Persons misusing the Assisted Study Room, disturbing others, being noisy, etc. will be asked to leave.
