Books & Authors(InfoTrac/Gale)
A powerful reader's advisory database, with many ways to search for something good to read. Search by subject or setting or type of character or plot, and more. Also good for tracking down a series. Contains titles from eight genres of fiction: inspirational, mystery, romance, science fiction, fantasy, horror, western and historical novels, general fiction, and classic fiction, as well as some non-fiction. Most of the books included are award-winners, bestsellers or have appeared on recommended reading lists. Has biographical information on some of the authors. Includes books for adults, young adults, and children.
Michigan Authors and Illustrators(Michigan eLibrary)
A database of information on authors and illustrators who were born in Michigan, live or have lived in Michigan, or have works about or set in Michigan. Each entry includes biographical information, lists of works by the person and lists of works about the person. Searchable by author, title, city, genre or keyword. Or browse authors' last names. The database is updated continually. For upper elementary kids and older, and adults.

Over 20,000 ebooks available on all topics provided via Ebscohost.  They can be viewed online but cannot be checked out or downloaded.

A great, searchable database of fiction for all ages. Includes book descriptions and reviews when they are available. Search for fiction by subject or plot. Find author read-alikes (i.e., if you like books by this author, you might like these other authors, too). Has theme-oriented book lists and awards lists. Also has book discussion guides for book discussion groups. Updated monthly. Contains materials for all ages including picture books, children's "chapter" books, young adult titles and books for adult readers.
